The New Catbook Air (um...and the Catbook Not-So-Air) /

So. Yes. It's true. I took my credit card out of the freezer and bought my favorite computer of all time. I am madly in love with it (not in a creepy way. Well, maybe a little.) I know that not everyone is a big fan of the Air (MacBook, not Jordan) but it is WONDERFUL. I love it. It is perfect for me, because I write out of the house a lot and it is as light as...well, you can probably guess the rest.

Anyhoooo...the cats appear to like the velvety box it came in more than the computer itself (thank god. The last thing I need is an eighteen-pound cat sitting on a three-pound laptop. That wouldn't be a fair fight.)

So I thought I'd share these pics and confirm my status as a crazy cat lady...

K.

there's a similar photo on LOLCATS with a morbidly obese tabby - kinda funny, actually...
You can see it here.

Oh my gosh, I am so jealous! William (my MacBook Pro) (yes, I name my computers) is only a little over a year old but I do lust after the Air kind of intensely. (Just don't tell William, he'll get jealous.)

I'm so set in my ways I have never swayed over to the Mac-side....I can't imagine life without my laptop now, but I can never warrant the cost of the Macs....meh if I had my way I'd still be using my commodore 64 ;-)

Love the pics by the way...cats are ever-so-slightly odd creatures.

Oooh! I wasn't too enamoured of the Air, since I like having a dvd drive right here right now. But I loves me my MacBook Pro that I just got last month. *pets it* You're lucky, my cat loves lying on my keyboard, especially when I'm trying to type

I'm fairly new to the Mac world, having converted from Windows(ins)anity in late 2007, but I'm already so thoroughly in love with my Mac that I can't imagine being solely a Windows user again. Ugh. What a horrible thought.

And I love my little MacBook! It's small, it's fast, it doesn't crash on a daily basis... but I do have to admit to lusting after the new Air. Just a little bit. =)

Cats are like children, they always prefer the box that the toy came in over the toy itself. Both kitties are adorable!

So adorable.

There's nothing wrong with being the crazy cat lady. I, myself (well, with my parents), own 5 cats.

I'm an admitted Windows girl, myself, but if it weren't for the impracticality of the Air (no CD drive? Really?), I'd want one. They seem so damn cute.

OMG is that... Martha? Hasn't she grown? Rufus is looking well too. I love how they're looking straight at the camera. (says another crazy cat lady to another) :)

Very jealous over your new Mac, and very happy over all these upcoming plays... too bad I live on the other side of the world. I wish you all the best! (or maybe I should say break a leg?)

Wow! I was wondering who the target market for the Air was. Now you've answered it. Thank you. I am surprised that you were able to find an Air in stock. I figured the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons might have bought them all up =).

The cats are adorable btw.

Cool, a MacBook Air! *envies you* Although I shouldn't be envious, "Booky", my PowerBook G4, is fantastic and very reliable. :)

Lol, the cats in the Apple boxes, that's cute! iCats! :D

All the best, and I see you soon in London! Looking forward to it!

Aww, there's something about cats and computers. Mine likes to perch on my shoulders while I'm typing or when the weather's cooler, tries to perch on the cable modem (probably not good for the modem).

Cute pictures of your cats. :) I know my cats love to sleep and play in boxes especially if the sides are high and they can pounce on each other. :D

Great pictures! It's funny that you never need to buy cats toys. You just throw an empty box or a twist tie on the floor and they're happy and content for days. Glad the new computer is working out for you. It's pretty amazing what they can do and you can only imagine what's next. My family's been Mac all the way for as long as they've been around!

The cats are adorable.

Congrats on the new computer! I'm trying to keep mine working through sheer willpower all summer and then switch everything over to Mac. Dumbest move I ever made was to go PC instead of Mac in the first place.

The pictures of your cats are adorable. My cat, Quinn, does the same thing, and I have plenty of pictures of him in strange places. His favorite is to try to squeeze himself into the smallest box he can find. I have seen him in a small box with his black fur hanging over the edge!

Have a goodday~

p.s. Your black kitty looks like it could be a cousin of my Quinn.

I posted a picture of my cat, Quinn, in one of his new sleeping locals. http://rac76.blogspot.com/
Some of the places that he sits, I would think would be unpleasant for him! I guess it's all that fur that he has to help cusion the place.

Have a goodday~

I love your cats. Although I like your brother I think it's crazy that he has a dog when he could have cats!!

(Although from what I have seen of Mars I am sure he is part Cat).

I love the look of the Air and for the same reasons you do - unfortunately I don't have a credit card in my freezer, (will check behind the peas tonight just to be on the safe side), so I will have to wait a bit longer - be sure and post if it blows up in 6 months time so I know not to bother. Yes, you can be my guinea pig.

I love the sound of your plays but don't get a chance to see them in the UK. Do you have any vids on line that I could watch? or dvd? or screenplays? etc so I could see your work as everyone says how good it is so I would like to see for myself.

I saw you in the UK at MTH2008 and I could watch you and your brother banter (argue) for hours. I am a fan of the one liner and the one-up-man-ship. Thank you for many many laughs.
