Worst Blogger EVER/

Well...I am deeply ashamed. Deeply, deeply ashamed. Deeply. It's been over a month since I last posted. It's not that I don't feel guilt. It's not that I don't hate myself when I fall asleep at night. It's not that I don't not use too many un-negatives on a not irregular non-basis. It's just that I've been doing a lot of present-buying, traveling, booze-consuming, watching two and a half seasons of the best show on television (Veronica Mars -- holy crap) and giving things up then reincorporating them into my diet then giving them up again. Ah, 2007.

First I apologized for not posting in so long. Now, I'm going to follow up that apology with another apology: this is going to be a very short post. Here are my reasons/excuses: 1) I am in Vancouver right now and I am flying home early tomorrow morning. (Okay, fine, 11AM is not that early, but I've got jet lag. Wait...11 AM in Vancouver means 2PM in Toronto. Excuse #1 officially sucks.) I've been here in the snowed-over version of Vancouver for five days, mainly because there was a Dog's Breakfast photo shoot today and I was required to attend and pose. ("An A Dog's Breakfast Photo shoot?" "A A Dog's Breakfast Photo Shoot"? Nothing looks right. I HATE ARTICLES. And grammar. And pickled ginger, but that's unrelated.) I also got to dogsit and officially bond with my brother David's dog Mars. Cutest dog EVER. Well worth the five hour flight.

2) My second long-winded excuse for a short post is that I have to go online and find someone to take my apartment. Soon. That's right -- my NEW apartment with the DJ neighbour on the West side and the shoot-em-up video game junkie who cheers when he pops someone on the East side. I HAVE to move. I HAVE to break my lease. I HAVE to. There are many people who could handle living where I live: other DJs, other video game addicts, Buddhists, etc. but I may become insane if I don't. Or sane, I guess. That could be cool. Maybe I should stay...

3) My third excuse for a short post is that I can't decide if I have too little to report or too much to report, so I'm not reporting anything at all. I can't decide if I'm overwhelmed by news, or underwhelmed by how little has happened in 30 days.

So instead of posting properly or fixing the rough draft of my new play (my NEW new play), I'm instead going to drink champagne with David and Jane until I fall asleep! Healthy, I know.

But I gave up beer! It's been three weeks. Nice.

Beer-missingly,

Kate

You know, 3 long winded excuses for a short post make up for a fairly decently sized post.

And I'm with you on the beer, haven't had any since Christmas. Well, New Years. Heh, that didn't last long. I'm the only female beer drinker in the family and the others used to call me un-ladylike. Before they got over it, like.

Anyway, have fun and have a great year!

Oh dear! You certainly have picked a rather interesting day to come back on, seeing as its the first major snow storm of the year here in Toronto and well, it looks to be rather icy too. *winces* Good luck with the flight! And also, I hope the apartment search goes well! It can't be fun having neighbors like that, so good luck!

Happy new year!

Glad to hear something of you again...was already afraid your cats had eaten you or soemthing like that. One never knows!
Anyway you can shorten the Breakfast thingy down to ADB. I think most people now know that abbr. and of course it doesn't need so much typing! I also hate articles!
Good luck with moving again. You'll become a professionall before long, it seems!
I guess you won't come to the London screening of ADB? But could you please ask your brother why he had the insane idea of deciding upon a THURSDAY??? Nobody is able to fly in from Germany or elsewhere on a thursday! A nice saturday would have been far better for all. But enough o fit, your not responsible for your brother's insanity of course – I hope...

God you leave us for a month and then come back with bad news! You shoul'd feel guilty :)

Awww i'm only joking. I'm kind of glad for you that you have to move apartments again; do you really want to have to put up with living with mentally unstable neighbours :D The trouble of moving would be worth it!

No news, how about the news i hear ADB is coming to England?! I'd call that news, i can't wait to see the film! Though hopefully we won't have David running in circles worrying about his new high deffinition baby having monosounds (is that even a word?? Meh!

I wish i was snowed in here, about 17 meteres snowed in. I miss snowboarding! My board has dust on it! Dust!

Congrats on giving up the beer! It's good for you! And everyyyone knows that expensive champaigne is good for you *alot of eye rolling going on in this very boring and cold college, good working time spent here blogging :)*

And i tottttally agree with marie! Now you can move back into some form of loft to satisfy your blog needs :)

Wow this is a long blog, i should really post on mine instead but then i'd miss you.

Well i was going to try writing abit in french to keep you busy but 1. I forgot all my funny french if ever it existed and 2. You sound really busy with your many and recent call to fame :D So happy for you!

Much love and I don't need to wish you a good new year because to be honest i know it's going to be amazing! Can't wait to see you and David and everyone hopefully if you come to London or wherever it's going to be, and if i get tickets which i really hope i do, i'll have to sneak in if i don't :)

Shutting up now :)

OMG you watch Veronica Mars? which episode? ok sorry fangirly here but hey it's Jaime Ray Newman (Stargate love^^) and I think my first tv love Rodney Rowland! (Space: Above And Beyond is such a cool show.. go. watch it! and if you can't find it wask David he has to knwo if if not he isn't geeky enough ;) Besides at least you got DVDs we here not *cry* ) Anyway, you have to love Veronica mars only for the gueststars I mean Charisma Carpender and Alyson Hannigan! Steven Guttenberg (mmh.. yummy in Airborne with Torri and Sean) and Ed Begley Jr., who seems to follow me around everywhere I go he is teher! *eek*
ok enough fangirl talk (it's your fault don't mention the one show that finally has my name on/in/with it.. no not Mars PLUS great gueststars)

btw. I think you get my thoughts send to you because yesterday I thought of you and how much I loved to read a new post and there you are writing one (or writing on on not writing one) and it was the same last time! it's getting creepy.

And I totally envy you with snow. it's only cold and rainy and the wind blowing cold and *arg* With snow you can at least feel like winter.

You did not mention Rufus or Martha. I hope they are doing well.

It’s great to hear about the photo shoot for “A Dog’s Breakfast”. It lets us know that things are moving right along with the movie.

Give Mars a nice pat on the head from us and give David and Jane a congratulatory hug from all his squirrelly fans.

Take care, stay warm and have a safe trip home.

My solution for the whole article conundrum is to restructure the sentence. So you can say there was "a photoshoot for A Dog's Breakfast" and you're good to go.

good luck on the apartment thing. one of those interesting processes that is both fun and horrifyingly awful.

Glad you are back and had an enjoyable holiday! When I was in an apartment I really had no problems with neighbors but I was rarely there. Now I own a house and have a pesky neighbor that paints the house BRIGHT YELLOW (which I can see out of my kitchen window every morning) and complains that our dog barks when we let her outside. What's up with that?! Champagne, or wine for that matter is better than beer anyway. Good luck with that.

Have a great 2007!!!

No, it was not a long time. Just longer than the usual :x lol

And there's no reason to apologize, you have your busy busy life to attend to.

I'm not sure if I'm sorry to hear that you're moving again. The one thing I'm sure (I think I am...) is that it would be better for you to have a quiet place, rather than game addicts/DJ's turning your brain into soup. I hope you have better luck with the new apartment.

Bye! See (read) you soon?

I am so glad you're back.

On the home front (pun was intended *g*), I can sympathise, I moved from a flat in London (UK) which was very noisy. Am in a detached house 20m outside Edinburgh... very peaceful.
Am willing to do a swap - on a temporary basis - perfect for Edinburgh Festival time *lol*.

So, you've given up beer and are drinking champagne instead - methinks the Hollywood lifestyle is rubbing off on you.
(*tuts and shakes head* 'she used to be such a nice down to earth girl' *lol*)

Have a lovely time anyway, and good luck with the apartment hunting.

Glad to hear that ADB is taking off but sorry to hear that you have to give up the apartment.

I'm with Elvin - I'd've just rearranged the whole sentence, but then you'd lose the whole grammar-game fun;)

Sorry to hear the noisy neighbors have made it so impossible for you; maybe you can find someone to take it over for you. When I was in SC, I added a roommate and we moved to a townhouse in the same complex. A few months later I lost my job and had to move, so her brother moved in with her and they took over the lease with no trouble. Don't know if anything like that might be an option for you or not.

And, hey, a month's not so bad. :: glances at own blog with six-month-or-more gaps :: Yeah, you're doing fine. Remember, this is fun, not work. You only need to worry about being present every day if you're getting paid for it;)

I know how that feels with noisy neighbors. Happy hunting, here's to finding a mime for new neighbor in the next apartment.

Forget beer - champagne is where it's at. And from what your dear brother David says, you have excellent taste - always go with the Widow. :)

Break the lease! Living with people who drive you crazy is definitely a downer. I'd blame them for making the blog late...bad annoying videogamers! I lived with one last semester, though she went beyond her video craze. She would play Warcraft with her boyfriend across the hall, both doors open yelling to each other. This was in addition to the relgious rituals involving knives/candles(all banned in dorms), the curses on me for eating meat in the room, and the multiple illicit sessions she had on my bed when I was sleeping at the barn. Yuck.

I'm officially the worst blogger. I put up snippets of thoughts and strange news articles, or not update for weeks on end.

Business is automatically an excuse! It looks like everyone's been running around lately, especially for "A Dog's Breakfast." It's surprising you can get around and do everything, especially with this crazy weather hitting the States.

Good luck with the apartment search. I understand--when you find a great place you cling to it tightly, but a bad situation makes every part of life pretty much hell!

And how do you write so fast? I'm still only halfway though my one-act!

Oh, there's no fast and hard rule on how much you have to blog. If you're busy with life, that's great! And photo shoots for ADB? EVEN BETTER! I can't wait to see that film. I am green with envy for friends who saw it in LA and soon in London and when oh when will it hit NYC?

But you know if you feel really really guilty, you can always post pictures from your time in Vancouver. Posting pictures does wonders to make the guilt go away (wonder if she'll buy that?) Hmm... ;)

I should point out though that I like the layout, but the combination with another site just didn't work too well the other night ;)

so erm ... what to call it
lofty pie ?!

A long long time ago
I can still remember
when reading blogs didn't bother me
I should have know these times had gone
why do I edit yet 'nother song ?
when squirrels should just climb a tree.

But then along came Hewlett's Kate
and wrote another blog update:
with lovely green on dark background
it was then, that I found out ...

At first I simply had to blink
I should've seen that obvious hint
and it got worse, I could just squint
when on the Y!M I got a link.

So byebye Missus Sight of the Eye
Read through Kate's text, went to Y!M next
and the trouble was mine
'Cause the change was too much range for my eye to get by
The change was just too much for my eye
just too much to get by

And did you read through all her site
then change to texts of black on white ?
It's no fun, I'm telling you
what my eyes were going through

I know she didn't mean to hurt
not even those who come to lurk
Just poke some fun at her big bro
who does the same, just so you know

Now, tiredness takes over much
can hardly type another Satz
See ? English slips out of my head
it's finally time to go to bed.

My brother took on a 12 month lease, and shortly afterward was offered a job about an hours' drive away. The Real Estate Agent won't let him break the lease until someone else offers to take the place on.

It was a bit of a downer, but the upside is that the new job comes with a 3-bedroom house Rent Free! Life has its ups and downs. I'm sure you'll find something suitable. Good Luck!
