YAAAAAAAAAY, APPLES (ESPECIALLY THE BIG ONE...) /

First of all, to the two and a half people who still actually check my blog to see if I've updated:

HI! SORRY. I'VE BEEN WRITING A NEW DRAFT OF HUMANS ANONYMOUS, SO I'VE BEEN NEGLECTING MY BLOGGERLY DUTIES.

To the rest of you, who probably won't read this until April 2008:

HI. HAPPY NEW YEAR! WHO WINS BEST PICTURE AT NEXT YEAR'S OSCARS? HOPEFULLY "PARIS, JE T'AIME" OR "ONCE". OR "28 WEEKS LATER."

(I've been watching rather a lot of Heroes in my spare time so I've got time travel on the brain. Hiro and the cheerleader are my favorites, by the way. And Mama Petrelli. So good. They're all good, though. I love that show.)

But here is why I am actually posting:

From November 1 - November 18 of this year (still 2007) my play Humans Anonymous (a brand new version) will be produced at Theatre 54 in New York City by the Bridge Theatre Company! Cool! The cast includes: Philip Graeme (my dear friend and a previous member of PHARK), Esther Barlow (gorgeous and talented), Dustin Olson (gorgeous, talented, not related to the twins), Me (not related to the twins either) and a girl named Jenn whose last name I don't know yet but she's AWESOME. Rufus will be there in spirit but not in furry actuality, playing the role of Charlie the cat. (He didn't die or anything. He just isn't allowed to go to New York with me. Neither is Martha. Too noisy and destructive.) I would love it if you could spread the word. If you live in/near New York COME AND SEE IT! Heck, if you live in/near New Zealand COME AND SEE IT!

But that's not all...

None of this is official yet (sshhhhhh) but Creation Entertainment and I are planning a special performance of the play (followed by a Q&A with the cast and...uh...playwright) for Stargate fans, particularly those attending the Secaucus Con! It will be on Sunday, November 4th at 8pm, so book your tickets for that special performance online. The theatre only seats sixty so it will sell out fast!

The website is:

theatermania.com

(Wow. It feels weird to spell "theater" the American way, but that's their web address, so I can't Canadianize it.)

Tickets won't go on sale until Thursday or Friday of this week. (Why is this writing still showing up red? Oh man, why won't my computer let me go back to a normal colour? Red is so over-the-top. Oh well. I'm going to embrace the red. Hello red. Welcome to my formerly black-green-and-white blog.)

I'm not drunk, by the way. Just tired.

SO! November 1 - 18 at Theatre 54 in The Big Apple! Come and see the first professional production of my first ever FULL LENGTH PLAY...

K.

New York! Congratulations! Also, yay! Since that is a far easier commute.

I'm even going up to the city next week to see King Lear.

Be seeing you... or rather, your play.

Oh man! That is SO COOL! Though, I thought you were a west coaster now, so it's not like the hop, skip, and jump away Toronto was.

Still, awesome... makes me wish I lived closer to NYC.

I'm looking forward to it! Theatre 54 is a really cute space, very intimate.

And I even have a (fakeish) job now, so I can actually afford it. Woo hoo!

Congratulations! That's wonderful news!

I may be headed that way to visit family in November, if so I will make sure to catch the show.

I think I am a wonky American, cause Theater looks odd to me. (Also to me Theater is more of like a movie theater, and theatre is more of classic theatre.)

*end random comment here*

Also, if I lived in New York I would be there! Couldn't you move it to May when I am there for my honeymoon? ;)

hooray for you! I'll be looking into tickets as soon as they're available - the Boston/NYC trek is pretty easy to do.

Feeds! We can read your blog without having to CHECK your blog, which is handy because you're hardly the only one doing the virtual "tap tap tap, is this thing on" routine and feeds generally make the whole thing ever so much easier.

I'm glad you've updated with the actual DATES for November, as my fall schedule is already kind of killing me. Will definitely make it up to the city for a weekend performance! :)

I usually peek in every coupla days to see if you've dropped by. I certainly can relate; I'm not always quick with my Live Journal updates either. :)

Cool on the play!! I'm gonna be in Secaucus for the con, meeting up with some friends actually. If I can swing the extra money, heck yes I'd love to see the play. :) Whether or not I get to go, I hope it goes very VERY well for you. Congrats!

*oh, an update..an UPDATE! YAY!* I check every day and nearly choked on my morning coffee, when I spotted the update. First of, very happy for you concerning NY, just wished it would have been the first week of January 2008, when I'll be visiting NY for a week, *sigh*. But there's still a lot of water under the bridge till then, maybe..
I am soo excited about the new Atlantis season, specially "McKay and Mrs.Miller" !! Though I'll probably have to wait till spring next year, that's how long it takes for episodes to reach Germany. *Heavy sigh*
Nevertheless, break a leg!!

Yay for your play!!!! I don't live in or near New York, but I do live in New Zealand. Although I'd *love* to come see Humans Anonymous my studenty budget really won't allow it. I'll be stretching it even to go to Melbourne next year to see Wicked.

I hope all goes well and break a leg :P

Oh, and Mama Patrelli, do you think she has a power? I do. But I'm not sure what yet. I like DL's power. It would come in handy sometimes I think. But everyone is great!

Awesome! New York City!!! We'll be able to say we knew you when....

Not sure if I can pull off a trip to NYC in November, but I'll definitely look into it.

When are you heading down? Details, please.

Heck, if you live in/near New Zealand COME AND SEE IT!

That's practically a personal invitation! *whips out credit card* I seriously have no idea why the bank gave this to me. I wouldn't have given this to me.

Anyway, have fun and go hard! The play sounds crazy cool!

Hey there Kate. I drop by your Blog daily so I guess I am one of the two (kidding).

If the play was closer to me I would go in a heartbeat.

Have not watched "Heroes" Sister does have Season 1 now so I may sneak it out her room and watch it.

I am sort of hooked on "Jekyll" now. Thanks to your older brother.

Congrats, have fun in "The Bog Apple".

I really, really love that show and I can't wait for season 2!
Also curious about the new season of Stargate Atlantis though :D

As I'm - sadly - not able to see you at any of your plays, because I live so far away, I can't wait for Miller's Crossing to air :D Still some time left 'till then ^^

Congratulations anyway :D

Of course we're still checking your blog! And not updating our own, either - I think my last update was Sept. 11, and it was pathetically short. I would LOVE to come see the play, but funding would have to be provided by a bigger paycheck than the one I get now. WOE. Well, maybe. I'll see. Hm.

I came to see the reading you did last November - or December. I remember it was cold and I was Christmas shopping my way up 57th Street to the theatre. Whenever it was, I loved it and I'm looking forward to seeing it as a full length play.

Wow that's great!!!! congrats! To bad I live more then 7 hours away by plane lol..

(I totally get the Heroes adiction btw!! The cheerleader is also my favorite. But appairently Kristen Bell is joining the cast for season 2! But I guess Veronica Mars already was a hero :D)

Thanks for the update! There are still a lot of people who read your blog ;) believe me, you're great!!

First off, memo to self: don't read this blog while at work. I was cracking up about the "hello red" part when the phone rang, and it was HARD to take that call!

Anyways, that's GREAT that your play will be in NY... too bad it's still in the wrong part of the world. :-(
Maybe you could re-enact it at next year's Vancouver convention, and Rufus WILL be able to play Charlie? And Martha can play another part. You could have a cast of cats, and call it "Cats Anonymous"??? Hmm... I wonder if it'd be funny even despite all the meowing and hariballs...

Hey Kate! Congratulations for the play!

Heroes is one of my favorite TV shows, although that doesn't mean much since I have lots of favorite TV shows :x Anyway, I think Hiro is one of the favorites for everyone.

But now I'm just waiting for Atlantis season 4 :)

Well, congratulations again, and bye. See you soon (or not :p)

I'm short. Does that me the half person?

You can't write something on your blog and say "shh!" It doesn't work that way.

Are you going to do previews and talk to us after? Because that weekend is insane. Or will you take the time talk to us if we attend a later production, like the week after? I really want to see this and talk to you about the changes since I saw the production last year.

And, I just received my copy of A Dog's Breakfast. I can't wait to watch it (again) when I get home tonight. With commentary! I downloaded it so I've watched it several times already. I've even taken my laptop to parties and gotten folks interested in buying the dvd.

I know you've mentioned that the dress you wore in the scenes with Chris Judge was your own dress. What about the rest of you wardrobe? I've heard people admiring the clothes you wore in the movie.

Wow, NYC is just possibly doable, although I don't know if I could make the Q&A session (waaah!) If a person saw it during the 'normal' time period, is it possible to meet you briefly after the play ends to chat for a few minutes?

And as for Creation Con, will you actually be attending the con? I haven't made plans yet as Paul McGillion is at that con,a nd on the same day, Torri Higginson is in Massachusetts. Talk about too much and too little time.

By the way, A Dog's Breakfast was a hoot!!!

As a resident of New Jersey, I appreciate you referring to the Secaucus con (instead of the New York con). Anyway, I'll be there and look forward to meeting you. I'm also looking forward to seeing Human Anonymous but I think I'll go on a night other than Sunday.
And if you're looking to meet the Heroes' cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere) she's going to be at a convention herself - the Big APple Con across the street from the Garden in NYC Nov 16-18. I'm probably going to check that out as well.

You are way too funny. I guess it runs in the Hewlett family. Let me tell you that I have learned that when I watch David do his famous You Tube Vids to not be eating or drinking Diet Coke. Yes I learned the hard way. DC burns in the nose by the way I strongly do not recommend it.

Ever thought of stepping into the World of You Tube and posting Videos?

Have fun in the Big Apple.

*pops in to check your blog!* That's super news about your play! Best wishes with that. Also, fantastic about the special performance to coincide with the con. I'm still very sad I never got to ADB in London in Feb, it was great of David and you to do that. Like *special extras* for con-goers!!!! You know what, it would be really cool if you came again to London in January for the Wolf con... *sighs happily at the memories*

It was awesome...you are awesome!
Which begs the overly used and trite question:
Why are you so awesome?

Must run in the family as I hear your sisters and mom are awesome too!! ;-)

*feels angry glare burning through her back all the way from Washington*
Ok...ok...David was great too!
